Simple Girl

Country atmosphere for the new collection of Guess, and it is the American actress Amber Heard which dazzles us for Winter 2011-2012.

It is a trip back in time that offers to us the American brand. Under the camera of Ellen von Unwerth, world-renowned photographer specializing in erotic feminity, the actress takes us into an America during the 50's, all in black and white, where she incarnates a glamorous and wanton pin-up . Fishnet stockings, high heels, denim jacket or scarf in the hair, nothing is missing.

The campaign, which looks like a old western, focuses on the history of the blonde with a handsome young
cowboy, from their meeting to their romance. A story we're told in imagesfor our greatest pleasure, because a luxury brand sells foremost magic (the imaginary part of the branding, which makes brands so expensive actually) and I think this one is a great success. We can find yourself in the middle of the Far West, living the American way of life and it's just an amazing feeling, even if we know it's all fake... Actually this makes us dream so much we want to be her, and we go to buy the best pieces of the collection. Yeah, this is how it works, but even if we're victims of a capitalism plot, because of a dark and mysterious force, any girl <ould complain about having been manipulated, eh?

Oh, and I've found you the video of the campaign, whose music is the song Simple Girl by Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr... amazing !

So America

The US. Two letters that speak for themselves ...

It's not because I feel a mix of fascination and admiration for this highly colorful american society, but the US intriguies me. And especially New York, the city where all dreams come true, they say, and where style and beauty reign at every street corner
in any form whatsoever...

Street shooting pictures also speak for themselves. Fashion is not just limited to those who can afford it, and a vintage apparel costing just a few dollars has always a perfect fall on the person who appropriates it. But it's mostly all this culture, these good manners only found overseas and where art is everywhere you wanna find it, that inspires me so much.

If there are some moments so mundane as a morning jog in Central Park or a shopping spree on Fifth Avenue (shopping bags on the wrists and a Starbuck's coffee in the hand) giving the impression that all New-yorker's life is so exciting, a few people look at the other side of the coin... If they are hyper-active at all times in accordance with the American way of life in which the cult of perfection is firmly established, it's always with a perfect style ... But at what cost?

Garance, you're so shallow !

Effet papillon?

It all started one morning in July 2007. Surfing on the net in search of interesting fashion blogs, I came across a captivating article : a story of a trip to Sydney by a sort of stylish globetrotter who was covering a local Fashion Week eventful, but was also sharing her own shots of street looks. This leading blogger is obviously Garance Doré.

Breathtaking pictures, sketches to die for and a sense of humor to any event, I have read almost all articles published since the blog in 2005 that day. Inspired you say? I was quite fascinated by what was doing that exploratory of modern times because at the time, I didn't know yet what was the Street Shooting.

In a Relationship with the inevitable Schumman Scott, aka The Sartorialist, which I discovered the blog with ecstasy at the same time, Garance is constantly remembered for his shots and illustrations. So far, I'm constantly interested in other pillars of the fashion blogging around the world, finally throwing myself to create my own blog mode. Butterfly Effect?
